About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Lawyer to join our Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC) team at Airwallex, focusing on regulatory compliance for our operations in Brazil. This role will provide expert guidance on financial services regulations, licensing, and corporate governance obligations for a fintech company.
Key Responsibilities
- →Provide comprehensive advice and guidance on regulatory compliance, licensing, and corporate governance for Airwallex's operations in Brazil
- →Manage our financial services license program and coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure compliance
- →Analyze new and existing products to ensure 2LOD controls comply with regulatory obligations
- →Guide cross-functional stakeholders to ensure Airwallex operates within risk appetite and regulatory requirements
- →Develop policies and processes related to regulatory risk obligations
- →Manage regulatory compliance risk within the Airwallex Risk Management Framework
- →Deliver the Compliance Monitoring Program and conduct targeted reviews
- →Conduct compliance training for employees and specific business areas
- →Lead projects to address business or operational issues
Requirements
- ✓Law degree from a recognized global or Brazilian university and active membership in the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB)
- ✓Minimum of 8 years of experience in a regulated financial institution, fintech, or legal/consulting firm
- ✓Approved officer or ability to fulfill requirements of the Central Bank of Brazil
- ✓Familiarity with financial regulatory laws across Brazil and the Americas
- ✓Data proficiency and ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making
- ✓Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills for complex regulatory challenges
- ✓Superior communication skills to explain complex topics to various stakeholders
- ✓Experience with developing/maintaining compliance programs in financial institutions
- ✓Exposure to licensing processes, regulatory expansion, and RegTech solutions
- ✓Deep understanding of financial products/services and related conduct risk
- ✓Brazilian National or foreigner with right to work
- ✓Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and verbal)
