About the Role

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Department of Veterans' Affairs. This mission-critical role involves analyzing problem areas and opportunities for improvement in the network.

Key Responsibilities

→Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting tasks for IT customers
→Unpack, move, and install IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
→Communicate directly with customers to diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues using Service Now
→Provision newly procured endpoints including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
→Install OS patches, upgrades, and COTS software
→Provide user management account support with Elevated Privileges when required
→Utilize log data and system administration tools to diagnose and repair system issues
→Perform system monitoring and analysis to identify risks and recommend improvements
→Use Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) to troubleshoot performance issues
→Manage inventory including pagers, media sanitization, and equipment disposal
→Conduct routine audits of systems and software for compliance and demand
→Perform general maintenance activities and asset management

Requirements

✓HS diploma or GED with 8+ years of system administration experience, or BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering with 2+ years of experience
✓Experience maintaining and troubleshooting a wide variety of systems and networks
✓Knowledge of debugging protocols and processes
✓Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✓Experience with routine system administration tasks and logging data
✓Ability to troubleshoot customer-identified problems and implement corrective actions
