About the Role

OakNorth is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead and elevate design across their product lines: Business Banking, Lending, and Personal Savings. This role will be responsible for shaping the customer experience across all digital products and brand touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

→Define how design contributes to business performance, product velocity, and customer outcomes
→Lead a multidisciplinary design team and partner with Product and Engineering leadership
→Ensure design decisions are evidence-led and tied to measurable outcomes
→Drive a cohesive experience strategy across all OakNorth products
→Translate complex requirements into intuitive, human-centered experiences
→Own the evolution and adoption of OakNorth’s design system
→Act as the accountable owner for how the OakNorth brand is expressed across products
→Build, lead, and develop a high-performing design team
→Apply emerging technologies, including AI, to accelerate design workflows

Requirements

✓Senior design leadership experience with a strong product mindset
✓Experience leading design across multiple product areas in complex environments
✓Ability to set strategy and work with detailed execution
✓Track record of tying design work to measurable outcomes
✓Experience building and running scalable design systems
✓Ability to influence senior stakeholders and make difficult prioritization decisions
✓Fluency in using customer research to inform decisions
