About the Role

We are seeking a Finance Director/VP Finance to lead our financial operations in a high-growth scaleup environment at Wheely, a high-end ride-hailing service redefining premium transportation across major cities in Europe and the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

→Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR), reconciliations, and cash flow optimization.
→Ensure regulatory compliance.
→Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and analyses to support executive decision-making.
→Lead audits (internal and external), coordinating with auditors and resolving any issues efficiently.
→Manage tax compliance, including filings, provisions, and strategies.
→Handle treasury functions, such as cash management, banking relationships, investments, and risk mitigation.
→Build and run a lean finance team (under 10 people), leveraging automation and AI tools to keep overhead low and drive efficiency.
→Contribute to strategic projects, such as fundraising or international expansion, with potential to take on FP&A responsibilities.

Requirements

✓5+ years of post-qualification experience in a Finance Manager / Financial Controller or equivalent managerial role in finance.
✓2+ years of experience hiring & managing finance teams.
✓(Optional) 3+ years of FP&A experience (e.g., budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis) for immediate consideration at VP level.
✓Chartered Accountant (ACA) or equivalent qualification (e.g., US CPA).
✓Bachelor's degree from a top university in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
✓Experience in international or multi-entity environments, including handling cross-border compliance, currency management, and global reporting.
