About the Role
We are looking for a Program Manager for Abuse to join our Fraud Risk Policy team at Block, Inc. This role focuses on abuse risk management across the Square ecosystem, defining risk strategies for detection, system controls, and operational implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- βDevelop and implement comprehensive abuse risk strategies that enable sellers to grow with Square while balancing controls that protect Square's infrastructure
- βBe a leader in shaping how we govern abuse risk across our products
- βBuild a roadmap for abuse mitigation across the Square ecosystem that aligns with our overall risk management framework
- βBe a subject matter expert in ecosystem abuse and communications risk
- βShare joint responsibility with directly responsible individuals in Machine Learning and Data Science for abuse risk management
- βCollaborate with Machine Learning, Data Science, Operations, Product Management, and Engineering teams to identify and implement control improvement opportunities
- βDefine, review, and communicate strategy, key metrics, and project updates across a diverse stakeholder group
- βUse analytics to monitor performance and support policy changes
- βLead and manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities
Requirements
- β8+ years experience in a project or program management role focused on risk management
- βExpertise in phishing and scam abuse risk management for SMS and email
- βExperience delivering risk management results as a leader of cross-functional product teams in a complex organization
- βAbility to break down complex projects into manageable, interdependent deliverables
- βAbility to use data to identify problems, trends, and anomalies, and to make recommendations for new programs
- βExcellent stakeholder management skills, with the proven ability to balance the needs of a high-growth business with risk and compliance requirements
- βExcellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and make clear recommendations
- βExperience with investigation and data-informed decision-making using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, and Looker
