About the Role
We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our team at Flexport, a company that is shaping the future of global logistics with innovative technology. This role involves managing operations and a team in one of our fulfillment centers.
Key Responsibilities
- βLead, coach, manage, and develop a team of 200+ associates and 4+ salaried managers
- βCommunicate and enforce policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and consistency
- βCreate and support recognition programs to foster a positive work culture
- βImplement and maintain safety programs, ensuring OSHA compliance
- βEstablish procedures for building security and product loss prevention
- βOwn and report on performance metrics within the fulfillment center
- βSet and uphold Service Level Agreement (SLA) expectations
- βCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve fulfillment-related issues
- βAct as the escalation point for risk mitigation and issue resolution
- βIdentify gaps in inventory accuracy and drive strategic initiatives to improve processes
- βAnalyze defect rates and recommend operational improvements
- βContribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- βWork closely with the Growth and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement
- βOwn CPU and cost metrics
Requirements
- βA minimum of 4 years of experience managing a team of 4 or more salaried individuals
- βPhysical capability to lift up to 49 pounds
- βWillingness and ability to engage in physically demanding tasks
- βAbility to stand/walk for extended periods, typically up to 10-12 hours
- βComfort working in an environment with varying noise levels
