About the Role
We are seeking a Solutions Architect to design and oversee the technical architecture of new platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, and integrated systems that meet the needs of multiple agencies. This role provides strategic technical leadership, leveraging deep expertise in enterprise architecture and government technology standards.
Key Responsibilities
- βDevelop the overall architecture blueprint and technology roadmap for system modernization, covering application, data, integration, and infrastructure architectures.
- βAnalyze existing systems and data flows; design integration strategies to connect new platforms with legacy systems and external databases.
- βSelect and recommend appropriate technology stacks that fit project requirements, emphasizing a modular approach.
- βEnsure the solutionβs design adheres to security and compliance requirements, including NIST, FedRAMP, and State security policies.
- βArchitect cloud-ready and scalable solutions to handle high volumes of permit data and documents.
- βDefine API and integration standards for connecting the platform with other systems, ensuring interoperability.
- βProvide technical oversight during implementation, reviewing system designs and guiding engineering teams.
- βIncorporate modern technologies such as AI-driven tools or workflow automation into the architecture.
- βCollaborate closely with project managers, business analysts, and UX designers to ensure technical solutions align with user requirements.
- βStay up-to-date with emerging technologies and public sector IT trends.
Requirements
- βBachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Masterβs degree preferred).
- β10+ years of experience in software development and architecture, with at least 5 years in a solutions architect or lead architect role.
- βProven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale systems, preferably within government or regulated industries.
- βDeep understanding of enterprise architecture principles and patterns, as well as hands-on knowledge of integration techniques.
- βExpertise in designing secure systems and knowledge of government security standards and compliance frameworks.
- βProficiency with cloud platforms and architectures, including designing cloud-native applications.
- βExperience with identity and access management, authentication protocols, and data encryption methods.
- βStrong understanding of database design and data architecture, including data governance and sharing across agencies.
- βExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of translating complex business requirements into functional technical designs.
- βEffective communication and leadership skills to articulate architectural decisions to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
