About the Role
We are looking for a Tech Lead within Payoneer’s Business Applications domain to drive our cloud-native transformation. You will lead the modernization of legacy systems, build foundational infrastructure, and elevate engineering practices as the organization transitions to a modern, scalable, cloud-ready technology ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead Cloud-Native Modernization: Drive the evolution of Business Applications into cloud-first, event-driven, API-centric services.
- →Own Infrastructure & DevOps Foundations: Define and implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, GitOps workflows, observability practices, automated testing strategies, and security-by-design.
- →Break Down Legacy Systems: Analyze complex legacy components, identify decoupling opportunities, and lead the technical execution for transitioning monolithic systems into modular, scalable services.
- →Provide Hands-On Technical Leadership: Set coding standards, mentor engineers, review designs, and guide teams towards resilient, high-quality backend engineering.
- →Partner Across the Organization: Collaborate with product managers, architects, SRE, appsec, data teams, and operational partners to ensure that modernization efforts deliver real business value.
Requirements
- ✓7+ years of backend software development experience.
- ✓3+ years of technical leadership in an engineering or platform/infrastructure role.
- ✓Proven experience leading modernization or cloud migration programs.
- ✓Expertise with microservices, event-driven architecture, API design, and distributed systems.
- ✓Experience working in fintech or regulated environments is a plus.
